Repeat all three rounds to make a second identical circle.
Join the Two Crochet Circles Together
- Place the two circles together, wrong sides facing inward.
- Attach brown yarn into one pair of opposite loops.
- Ch 1 and sc around, joining both circles through matching stitches.
- Before closing the round, gently stuff the inside with fiberfill.
- Finish with a sl st and make a hidden join.

Leave a long yarn tail for sewing or attaching the keychain clip.
Crochet the Leaves (Make 2)
Start with green yarn. Ch 11.
Work into the back bumps of the chain (optional for a cleaner edge):
- Sl st into 2nd ch
- Sc in next ch
- Hdc in next ch
- Dc in next ch
- Tr in next 2 ch
- Dc, hdc, sc
- Sl st into last ch, ch 1, sl st
Repeat for a second leaf.
Cut yarn and leave tails for joining and sewing.

Final Assembly – Turn It Into a Crochet Keychain
- Sew both leaves together using their back loops only.
- Attach the leaves securely to a keychain ring.
- Then sew the sunflower to the ring, above the leaves.
- Use leftover yellow yarn to fix the flower and add the keychain clip.
That’s it! Now you have a gorgeous, handmade crochet sunflower keychain to keep or gift.
Crochet Sunflower Keychain – Frequently Asked Questions
What size is the finished sunflower keychain?
Roughly 6–7 cm in diameter, depending on your yarn and tension.
Can I use a smaller hook or finer yarn?
Yes! Just adjust your tension, and expect a smaller result. A 2.00 mm hook with 4-ply cotton gives a mini version.
Is this project good for beginners?
Absolutely. It’s a great way to practice round shapes, basic stitches, and small assembly.
Can I turn this into a brooch or bag charm?
Of course! Just skip the ring and glue or sew the sunflower onto your chosen accessory.
